Privacy Policy

What konsacard.pk collects, what it does not, how the AI chat feature handles your queries, and how third-party scripts like Google Analytics and AdSense are used. For data accuracy, intellectual property, liability, and governing-law disclaimers, see the Terms of Use.

What this site does not collect

konsacard.pk has no user accounts, no login, and no backend that stores your comparisons. When you use the tool by selecting restaurants, adjusting bill size, or filtering cards, all of that runs locally in your browser against the public offers dataset that loads with the page. Nothing is sent to a server.

  • No name, email address, or CNIC collected (unless you choose to email us).
  • No salary, account balance, or financial data stored on any server. Inputs stay in browser memory only and disappear when you close the tab.
  • No card numbers, banking credentials, or payment information.
  • No payments processed on this site.
  • Wallet selections and filter preferences are saved locally in your own browser via the standard browser storage (localStorage) so they survive a refresh. That data stays on your device and is not visible to us.

What this site does collect

What How Why
Page views and navigation events Google Analytics (GA4) To understand which pages and guides are used, so we can prioritise updates.
General technical data (browser, country, device type) Google Analytics Site performance and layout decisions.
Ad impressions and click events Google AdSense Ad delivery and revenue attribution.
Chat query text Sent to Google Gemini API on each message Required to generate AI responses. See the AI chat section below.
Product analytics events (page views, clicks, debounced searches, filter changes, compare actions) PostHog To understand which features get used and where users get stuck, so we can prioritise improvements.
Session replays (a video-style reconstruction of clicks, taps and scrolling, with every input value masked) PostHog Session Replay To diagnose layout and UX bugs that are hard to reproduce from event data alone.
JavaScript errors (no personal data) Sentry error monitoring So we can detect and fix bugs that affect real users.

The AI chat feature (KonsaCard AI)

The "Ask AI" feature in the tool is powered by Google's Gemini API. When you send a message in the chat:

  • What is sent. Your message text, the current filter state (city, card types, bill size), and the top ranked cards from your current search. No personal information is included unless you type it yourself.
  • Where it goes. Directly to Google's Gemini API over HTTPS. The query is processed by Google's AI infrastructure according to Google's Gemini API Terms of Service.
  • What is stored. Chat history lives in browser memory only for the duration of your session. It is not stored on konsacard.pk servers. Clearing the chat or closing the tab clears the history.
  • How to opt out. Simply don't use the chat feature. The comparison tool works fully without it.
Note: Please do not type sensitive personal information into the chat (such as salary figures, CNIC numbers, or account details). The AI does not need any of this to give useful recommendations, and the message goes straight to Google's servers.

Google Analytics and AdSense

Both scripts are loaded on page view. Google Analytics collects usage data so we can understand site traffic and performance. Google AdSense may serve ads and set cookies in line with Google's own advertising policies.

Google's data collection practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you want to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on is the standard mechanism.

PostHog product analytics and session replay

PostHog is loaded on every page view and records anonymous interaction data: pages and screens you visit, clicks and taps, searches (after you stop typing — we record the final query, not every keystroke), filter and city changes, compare actions, and similar UI events. It also records session replays, which are video-style reconstructions of how you moved through the page.

PostHog assigns each device an anonymous random ID stored in your browser. No name, email, salary, balance, card number, or other personal information is sent. We have not enabled user identification, so PostHog cannot link your activity to a real-world identity.

Inputs are masked in session replays. Anything you type into a search box, the salary / balance fields, or any other <input> appears as a blurred-out placeholder in the replay video, so the values are not visible to us through replay. (The structured analytics events do record the final search query, for example, so we can answer "what are people searching for?" — but they do not record salary or balance values.)

Data is processed by PostHog's US infrastructure (us.i.posthog.com) under PostHog's privacy policy. To opt out, you can clear site data for konsacard.pk in your browser, or block third-party scripts.

On mobile, the KonsaCard app uses the PostHog mobile SDK with the same event vocabulary, but session replay is not enabled there.
